Our coloured baskets are produced by a small Kenyan weaving cooperative of around forty members, with a dedicated dye manager who oversees colour quality and consistency. Sisal grass is sourced ready-rolled when orders come in, hand-dyed in large vats of boiling water and hung out to dry before the weaving starts.
Partnership with this Kenyan cooperative helps women to support their families more comfortably, since subsistence farming alone often fails to meet the needs of a family.
