Kerta Rug – Bold Stripes, Handmade with Heart
The Kerta Rug is a real statement piece – bold, beautiful, and consciously made. Handwoven in Indonesia from soft, recycled cotton fibres on traditional wooden looms, Kerta brings craftsmanship and sustainability together in one striking design. Each rug is crafted by skilled artisans whose work reflects generations of weaving tradition, translated into a contemporary pattern of black stripes in varying lengths.
The result? A rug with a playful, graphic look and short fringes that add a gentle, bohemian finish. Its black-and-white colour palette makes it endlessly versatile, fitting effortlessly into modern, Scandinavian, eclectic or even more rustic interiors. Whether in your living room, bedroom or studio – Kerta adds warmth, texture and a grounded sense of style.
Available in two generous sizes – 150x120 cm and 260x120 cm – Kerta creates visual balance in open spaces and acts as a charming centrepiece wherever it lands.
And because we care deeply about people and planet:
-
Kerta is 100% handmade and fair trade

Every Kerta rug is a celebration of honest materials, time-honoured techniques, and ethical production. A beautiful choice with a beautiful story behind it.
About the Material: Cotton
We use cotton from local farmers on Java for our products. The cotton fields are naturally fertilised and the cotton bolls are picked by hand. The cotton is then separated from the capsule in a ginning machine. The cotton obtained is pressed into bales, combed and spun into yarn by hand. After the yarn has been spun in this way, it is processed by hand by the craftsmen on traditional wooden looms. Cotton is characteristic for its absorbency and skin friendliness.
