Maasai Woven Ring Cream-Black-Gold

Maasai Woven Ring Cream-Black-Gold

€37,50

This gorgeous cream and black beaded ring with golden touch is an absolute favourite of Mayala Home! Handcrafted by a group of 120 Maasai beaders in Tanzania, this woven ring creates an elegant yet youthful look. This unique ring is made of high quality glass beads and 2 single rows of 24K gold-plated glass beads. The beads are flat, for maximum comfort.

With different hands crafting each piece, no two pieces will ever be exactly the same. We celebrate the uniqueness and differences between them, making them truly one of a kind.

In Tanzania and Kenya, beaded jewellery is a tradition from the Maasai tribe, and a symbol of beauty, strength and sometimes social status. Both men and women wear beads during different events.

The colours of the beads have specific meanings, often related to cattle.

White means purity, as it is the colour of milk from cows, considered by the Maasai as pure and holy animals;

Black symbolizes the people and all the struggles they must endure.

We also have this ring with grey or pearl beads, as well a different black variant.
