Tiny beads, beautiful craftsmanship and a story that makes this ring so much more than just a piece of jewellery. The Wide Woven Ring by Sidai Designs is handmade in Tanzania by Maasai women, using their traditional and incredibly detailed beadwork techniques.

The deep black glass beads give the ring a wonderfully graphic look, interrupted by two fine rows of 24K gold-plated glass beads. It is bold enough to stand out on its own, yet its simple black-and-gold palette makes it surprisingly easy to wear. The flat beads and flexible woven construction make it comfortable around your finger too.

What we love most is the craftsmanship behind it. Every ring is made by hand by one of Sidai’s Maasai beaders, so you may notice tiny differences from one piece to another. These aren’t imperfections, but little signs of the hands that made your ring. Sidai works with around 120 Maasai women in Tanzania, combining contemporary design with traditional Maasai beadwork while creating sustainable employment and helping preserve this remarkable craft.
