The Centième Original Pendant is an iconic statement lamp in its original size, with a light and expressive design that feels both playful and refined. This pendant was previously known as the Georges Original Pendant. The name has changed because Georges no longer exists as a brand, but the lamp itself is exactly the same. It is still designed and handcrafted by the same maker, using the same materials and techniques.
The pendant features eight soft fabric petals, each carefully shaped and finished by hand. The outline of every petal is made from natural rattan, giving the lamp its distinctive floral silhouette and adding a subtle, organic contrast to the fabric. The combination of these natural and tactile materials creates a design that feels airy, warm and full of character.
Inspired by retro ceiling fans once found in rooms with louvred shutters, the Centième Original Pendant plays gently with light and movement. When switched on, the fabric petals softly diffuse the light, while the rattan edges add depth and texture. This results in a calm, warm glow that spreads evenly through the room and creates delicate shadow patterns on the ceiling.
All elements of this lamp are handmade, from the petals themselves to the brass ceiling rod and pole. The brass adds a warm, timeless accent and beautifully complements the natural tones of the rattan and fabric. Rattan is a living material, and over time the petals will slowly relax and curve downwards, forming a graceful floral crown. This natural process makes each lamp unique and adds to its charm.
The Centième Original Pendant is available in two sizes, including a smaller version that works beautifully in more intimate spaces. Each lamp comes with a brass rod of 70cm, which can easily be shortened to suit your space. A matching brass ceiling cap is included for a clean and elegant finish.
